Teaching and Research

Lane Igoudin, PhD

Professor of ESL and Linguistics
English/ESL Department
Los Angeles City College

Welcome to my research and teaching website! An LACC faculty member since 2005, I teach English and linguistics courses and contribute to language curriculum development and assessment.

My research focuses on sociolinguistics, linguistic ethnography, decolonizing and culturally inclusive teaching methods, and college writing pedagogy.

I have published chapters in academic volumes on these subjects (click the links above) and presented regularly at national and international conferences.

I speak five languages, hold a Master’s degree from CSU Long Beach, and a doctorate from Stanford University. I recently served as an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow with the Excellence in Pedagogy and Innovative Classrooms program at UCLA.
